The Passage: Voyage through the link of Universe
18 Mar 2015, by Retail inHermès Panama presented their artistic window displays entitled “The passage: Voyage through the link of Universe”, created by Jong Hwa Duly Lee.
Hermès has joined the 100 year celebration of the Panama Canal through their window representation which commemorates the French contribution towards the construction of the Canal.
The history is developed between the store windows, with each one being designed as a stage that represents the voyage of a Post-Panamax boat through the ocean; following the boat’s journey which must cross two oceans until its arrival to the Panama Canal. From the beginning the observer will be captivated, not only by the images but as well by the variety of expressions being portrayed by the dynamics of each window. Through these emotions, the showcased displays will have the responsibility of expressing the depth of this unique history much like the style of Hermès where the French world and the Panama Canal find themselves and are able to achieve a different view on the universe.
This project offered local artists the opportunity to develop their talent, exchange ideas, and realize better practices. It also became an opportunity to grow the relationship between both countries. Hermès window displays have always been surrounded by fascinating history and incredible sceneries which emanate creativity.
Jong Hwa Duly Lee originally from South Korea, was the selected artist for these windows displays due to his eclectic background, which allowed him to create a unique concept to symbolize the history of Hermès and the Panama Canal.
